South Yorkshire-based online printer instantprint has installed two new HEIDELBERG printing presses at its Rotherham manufacturing facility, increasing production capacity as part of a £12m investment programme.

The HEIDELBERG Speedmaster XL106-8P presses are already operational and, according to instantprint, are running up to 40% faster than the equipment they replace. They produce core products including flyers, folded leaflets and booklets for business customers across the UK.

The installation combines faster setup times with greater automation, helping instantprint meet growing demand while maintaining the turnaround times and consistent print quality its customers rely on.

Staff have completed training on the new equipment, which includes a system that automatically transports printing plates from the imaging department directly to the presses. This reduces manual handling, while further automation allows jobs to progress through production with less operator intervention.

Laura Mucklow, head of instantprint, said: “Our customers depend on us to deliver quality print quickly. These presses are already running up to 40% faster than the equipment they replace, giving us more capacity to meet growing demand and keep that service dependable.

“Faster setup and less manual handling also give our manufacturing teams more time to focus on print quality. This investment supports our growth and the businesses across the UK that rely on us.”

instantprint selected HEIDELBERG following a long-standing relationship with the manufacturer.

The installation forms part of the company’s wider £12m factory investment programme, which also includes a Canon varioPRINT iX3200 high-speed inkjet press. The programme is designed to increase capacity, improve efficiency and support future growth at its South Yorkshire site.
