The team at a Thixendale family business are celebrating after being shortlisted in a regional food and drink awards programme.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil has reached the final in the Producer/Grower category at the inaugural The Press York Food and Drink awards, which celebrate the best of York and North Yorkshire’s hospitality and food scene.

Marketing manager, Jennie Palmer, said: “We’re very proud to have reached the final of these awards. What a fabulous way to celebrate our 18th year in business and a successful rebrand that was launched at the Great Yorkshire Show.”

The team face competition from Soanes Poultry and Yorkshire Heart Vineyard.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony at the National Railway Museum on 5th October. The ceremony will be hosted by food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden, who said: “I look forward to the awards ceremony to discover who’ll be carrying off the accolades – they’ll need to be good!”

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by father and son Adam and Ben Palmer on their family farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. All products are blended, bottled and labelled on the farm.
