Beverley Building Society is proud to announce the outstanding success of its 2025 Charity of the Year campaign, raising more than £10,300 for Hull and East Yorkshire Mind and helping to support vital, life‑changing mental health services across the region.
The year-long pledge to champion mental health reflects the Society’s long-standing ethos of “building better futures” not only through its financial services, but through ‘giving back’ to the region it proudly serves.
Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, now marking its 50th anniversary, supports more than 25,000 people every year, offering counselling, group support, housing, and vital advocacy to ensure no one faces a mental health challenge alone. The charity works to change attitudes about mental health, combat stigma, and empower people to seek the help they deserve.
The Beverley team threw themselves into fundraising with an enthusiasm that captured the imagination of the public. From skydiving and golf days to raffles, bake sales, and dress-down days, staff found inventive ways to raise money and awareness.
They also rolled up their sleeves to support the charity’s own events—Quiz Nights, Football Tournaments, Dog Shows, and the festive “Mental Elf Run”—while volunteering their time and using the Society’s marketing channels to amplify the cause.
But the standout moment of the year was the Society’s much-loved Exercise Bike Challenge, a summer tradition that once again drew crowds outside the Beverley branch. Local partners including Just Beverley magazine, Beverley RUFC, and Hull and East Yorkshire Mind joined the relay effort, helping smash the cycling target and raise an impressive £2,000 in a single day.
Debbie Connolly, marketing manager praised the team’s dedication: “Giving back to our community is at the heart of everything we do, so I couldn’t be prouder of our staff and the passion they showed in championing our 2025 Charity of the Year campaign. The commitment to supporting Hull and East Yorkshire Mind shows what can happen when a team comes together with purpose, compassion, and determination to make a real difference.”
Hull and East Yorkshire Mind’s head of external relations, Jack Moore, also shared his appreciation for the Society’s support: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at Beverley Building Society for choosing Hull & East Yorkshire Mind as their Charity of the Year and for the time, energy and commitment that has gone into raising such a fantastic amount. As we mark our 50th anniversary, support like this feels especially meaningful, helping us continue a legacy of providing counselling, housing support, engagement and other vital mental health services for people across Hull and East Yorkshire. Partnerships rooted in genuine community spirit enable us to reach more people, challenge stigma and ensure that no one has to face a mental health problem alone.”
